From musical instruments to furniture, educational projects to handcrafted gifts, Clive Foden combines the traditional skills and modern creativity needed to bring the best out of wood.

Based in the West Midlands, Clive holds a lifelong passion for wood. Each item is fashioned from sustainable, temperate hardwoods helping to preserve environmental resources. The frequent introduction of recycled and unusual materials creates original, striking pieces, whilst period designs meet authentic standards of craftsmanship. Clive is also a qualified teacher with extensive experience of leading music and technology with children of all ages and abilities, including groups with autism.

Skilled in traditional techniques, for more than 25 years he has undertaken a vast range of carpentry including:

Gifts, bowls and other turned items
Stringed instruments, specialising in mandolins, citterns and bespoke pieces
Mediaeval and Renaissance re-enactment accoutrements
Furniture to match historical styles
Education projects for mainstream and special needs schools

All work is created with precision, finely finished with hand tools and enhanced by the application of natural oils and waxes.
